Mount Macedon is a wonderful combination of heritage gardens and bushland filled with eucalyptus, pine and mountain ash trees.
At the summit of the mountain, you will find the Memorial Cross, at 21 meters high, it is considered one of Victorias most significant war memorials. There is a walking trail for every fitness level, with 30km of trails through the Macedon Regional Park. If bush walks aren’t for you, take a quiet stroll through one of the many manicured gardens on the mountain, most of these are on private property and are only open on select days, check if they are open before you make your trip.
Mount Macedon is an ever-changing canvas throughout the four seasons of the year, it is a popular destination in autumn, as the trees turn a blazer with colour. Spring brings the blossoming of wisteria, daffodils and magnolias all over the mountain, while in summer it provides a cool break from the heat. Winter is just as spectacular with dustings of snow creating white wonderlands to explore.
