Historic gardens with a beautiful range of significant trees, walking paths and children's playground.
Castlemaine Botanical Gardens is one of the oldest regional botanical gardens in Victoria, and boasts an impressive collection of established native and introduced tree species, including an ancient oak planted in 1863. Open landscaped gardens, with walking paths surrounding Lake Joanna, provide a picturesque backdrop for gatherings. A children’s playground and bbq facilities make the gardens a popular weekend retreat. https://www.mountalexander.vic.gov.au/Explore-the-shire/Castlemaine-Botanical-Gardens
