Home to the largest concentration of mineral springs in Australia, time spent in the region is time spent returning your body to its natural state.
So slow down and restore the balance through a wide range of spa treatments and wellbeing therapies surrounded by immaculate gardens and tranquil forests.
A century of wellbeing
Your quest for rejuvenation and relaxation via the restorative waters in the twin spa towns of Hepburn Springs and Daylesford is part of a tradition dating back more than 100 years. The region boasts more than 140 natural mineral springs, and it was these as much as the prospect of easy riches that attracted the first wave of Swiss Italian migrants to the area.
Rich in magnesium, calcium and silica, among other minerals, the region’s springs are believed to cure all sorts of afflictions, from acne to arthritis. By the early 1800s, the locals were aware of these health benefits and lobbied the local council to halt sluicing for gold to protect the water. That lead to the creation of the Mineral Springs Reserve in 1865 and, in 1895, the Hepburn Bathhouse was built.
Restoring the balance
Enjoy a total body experience with wellness options complementing myriad spa treatments, from Daylesford to Hepburn Springs and Kyneton. Spa towns across the region are havens for holistic health and wellbeing, so you can indulge in more than 200 types of therapies and treatments, including massage, facials, mud baths, reiki, naturopathy, and even astrology.
For quintessential spa experiences, visit the iconic Hepburn Bathhouse, check in to the award-winning Salus Spa at the Lake House or the Mineral Spa at Peppers Springs Retreat. Try Ayurvedic spa therapies at Kyneton’s Maiaveda and treatments for mind, body and soul at Daylesford Massage Healing and Daylesford Day Spa.

A Splash Back In Time
We might be living in a country girt by sea, but the closest thing to the ocean out here in Central Victoria is the flake available at Kyneton’s fishmonger. And while we might lack in those terrific oceanic views, Central Victoria has an impressive array of outdoor pools and swimming holes, minus the crowds.
