Centennial Walk – Creswick Creek
For an easy, accessible stroll, the Centennial Walk runs beside Creswick Creek. This flat gravel path is suitable for all ages and abilities, offering a peaceful walk through nature while staying close to town. Start at Water Street just before the bridge over the creek.

Creswick Heritage Walk
History buffs will love the Creswick Heritage Walk, an 8.5km loop showcasing the town’s rich past. Stroll past stunning heritage buildings and landmarks, all part of the famed Goldfields Track. Whether you complete the full trail or just take in sections, it’s a great way to step back in time while enjoying the fresh air. Begin by walking through the University of Melbourne Creswick Campus and then onto the Goldfields Track.
Calembeen Park
Perfect for families, Calembeen Park is a tranquil retreat with something for everyone. The serene setting offers swimming, fishing, and BBQ facilities, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed afternoon. With open space for children to stretch their legs, plus public toilets and change rooms, it’s a great base to start or finish a day of walking.

Park Lake
A charming oasis just off Castlemaine Road, Park Lake features two islands, a central fountain, and a newly constructed rotunda. Whether you’re taking a leisurely walk around the lake or simply soaking in the scenery, it’s a lovely spot to unwind.
Eaton’s Dam & Koala Park
A fascinating relic from the gold mining era, Eaton’s Dam is an impressive example of early stone and earth construction. Nearby, Koala Park offers a peaceful bushland setting, perfect for spotting native wildlife. If you’re lucky, you might even glimpse one of the park’s namesake residents lounging in the treetops. Walk to the concrete ford on the eastern side of St George’s Lake, then follow the track along the water race and through the gate into the Koala Park.

La Gerche Forest Walk
Named after Creswick’s legendary forester John La Gerche, this picturesque spot is a must-visit for nature lovers. Featuring electric BBQs, a picnic area, and educational walks, it’s an inspiring place to learn about the region’s reforestation efforts. With Landcare displays and well-maintained trails, it’s a great mix of recreation and conservation.

Lindsay Art Trail
Art and history merge beautifully along the Lindsay Art Trail. Celebrating the legacy of the Lindsay family, renowned for their contributions to Australian art and culture, this 7.6km trail winds through Creswick, stopping at 24 significant sites. It’s an engaging way to experience the town’s creative heritage. The best place to start is at the Visitor Information Centre on Albert St.
The Great Dividing Trail – The Miner’s Walk
For those craving a long hike, the Miner’s Walk section of the Great Dividing Trail connects Creswick to Ballarat. This historic track takes you through Creswick Regional Park, following in the footsteps of miners from the Gold Rush era. The journey blends history, rugged landscapes, and bushland beauty, making it a rewarding trek for keen walkers. The Creswick Miners Walk starts at the Ballarat Railway Station and travels through the former diggings to the north of Ballarat through to Creswick.
