Once a resting place for miners during the gold rush, Kyneton has quickly become a culinary hotspot. Lined with bluestone buildings, historic Piper Street is home to lauded restaurants and cool cocktail bars, along with antique stores, art galleries, boutiques and artisan’s workshops. The beautiful bluestone theatre and museum is a wonderful step back in time.
The magnificent Botanical Gardens and playground and Campaspe River walk is a must for a picnic and slow morning stroll under the old oaks and try a taste of mineral water at the Mineral Spring. Stock up on produce, treats and flowers at the monthly market held on the second Saturday of the month.
Each April Kyneton celebrates the Kyneton Contemporary Art Triennial a popular event to meet our large population of working artists. In September Kyneton beems yellow with its annual Daffodil and Arts festival where the town celebrates its cherished blooming bulbs around the town.
