Wood-fired pizza, handmade pasta. Daylesford’s neighbourhood trattoria

Originally the Athens Hotel back in the 1860s and run by a Greek-Cypriot migrant, Beppe continues to celebrate the European movers and shakers that migrated to the area during the 1800s gold rush. With a fresh modern take however, Beppe is now a contemporary space that has quickly become a must-visit neighbourhood trattoria.

Framed by tall leadlight windows and featuring a striking Italian wood-fired oven, the venue is like no other in town offering diners both a restaurant setting, casual pizza dining, and even late-night drinks at the marble bar.

A series of artworks by local artist Kim Barter showcase Italian characters inspired by photos found at Daylesford’s local museum add another element of extending the hospitality to old friends, and new.

The menu also offers traditional Italian cuisine, with a local seasonal take. Dishes like meatballs with grilled polenta, bolognese ragu, and mushroom risotto with truffle oil are offered alongside a pizza menu, with all pasta, bread and pizza dough made in-house. Gluten-free pizza bases are available, and a mix of local and Italian wines, have all been selected to compliment the menu.

Takeaway is available via a dedicated pick-up window down the laneway alongside the building.

Located in Daylesford on the leafy corner of Raglan and Wombat Streets, Beppe Kitchen & Bar is the perfect place where locals and visitors alike can enjoy a modern Italian dining space, contemporary cuisine and Italian wines, and an atmospheric venue for special occasions or events.
