Hanging Rock Winery has been creating wines of distinction for over 30 years and is rated as a coveted 5 Star Winery by James Halliday for being an ‘Outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity’.

Established in 1983 by John and Ann Ellis, it’s their son, fifth-generation winemaker Rob and his sister Ruth that now call the shots – these two literally have wine running through their veins, and so know a thing or two about the perfect drop.

It’s a given that our wines will put a smile on your face, but a visit to our vineyard and Cellar Door will too. Taste our wine, treat yourself to an extra bottle, a gourmet picnic box or cheeseboard, then find a spot on our deck or lawns to take in the view over our vineyard towards Hanging Rock and Mount Macedon – it’s undoubtedly the most iconic in the Macedon Ranges.

And it’s not just a wine or two that’s on offer either – you can taste our highly-acclaimed Macedon Sparkling, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc or perhaps our Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo or other white and red blends…..we have more than 25 wines on offer to match every price point.

Passion and expertise has resulted in this impressive range which we hope will bring you as much joy as it does us. And make sure you pick up some of our estate grown, 2-year-old Hanging Rock Speckle Park Beef while you’re with us. It’s unashamedly some of the most flavoursome you will ever enjoy.
