The Campaspe River Walk is an easy and picturesque walk along the meandering Campaspe River.
The walk starts at the Mollison Street bridge, at the Kyneton Botanic Garden entrance, and takes you along the river to the bottom of Piper Street and further along to the Kyneton Racecourse. In all it is over 3kms and can take around 2 hours return.
Pass by the Kyneton Botanic Gardens, they are over 160 years old, and include many notable trees. They provide a lush canopy and sweeping lawns making for a magnificent picnic place. In recent years a community park has been added to the gardens with BBQโs, swings, toilets and a water play area.
There are historical markings along the way and little wooden bridges and weirs along the river. The track itself is a combination of gravel, hard surfaces and timber walkways. They are suitable for walking or riding.
