What an awesome autumn day at @trentham_spudfest 🥔 We had a ball moving from festival precincts, which were full of market stalls, food vendors and spud themed everything!

Don’t worry if you missed out, there’s still the Spudfest Ceilidh tonight (7-11pm) and tomorrow is another day of spudtastic fun with farm tours, farm gate trails, scavenger hunt, @redbeardhistoricbakery scotch oven tours, historical tours and an Spudfest wrap up party from 3pm.

Honouring those who sacrificed their lives in the past takes many forms. One tribute is the Avenues of Honour - stands of trees in over 500 country towns, a tradition originating in our region. Many of our towns feature rows of trees welcoming visitors on their outskirts.

So, next time you drive into a town in this area, nod your head to these quintessential symbols of gratitude, respect, and, of course, honour.

It's important to be reminded of how fortunate we truly are sometimes.
