Stop in for a coffee and all-day breakfast at Mr. Macedon in the heart of the Macedon village. After filling up on a breakfast favourite such as the Cuban Benedict or Magic Mushroom, take a leisurely stroll along Victoria Street. As you depart, drive down Macedon’s beautiful tree-lined Honour Avenue, which becomes the town’s star attraction every autumn.

Mount Macedon Trading Post

Situated in the heart of Mount Macedon, this general store is the hub of community activity in the area. Enjoy some delicious coffee, paired with a sweet or savoury treat before stocking up on some tasty signature house made produce. The outside tables are the ideal place to catch some morning sun, as you overlook their nursery neighbours and surrounding leafy gardens.

Macedon Regional Park

Macedon Regional Park

Next stop is Macedon Regional Park, which boasts a walking trail for every fitness level, with 30km of trails, including the popular Camel’s Hump Trail, recognised as the highest peak in the Macedon Ranges (at 1011m). From there, you can choose to hike or drive to the Top of the Range Tea Rooms. Enjoy a light refreshment before following the short and pleasant walk along a sealed path to reach the Memorial Cross. At 21 meters high, it is considered one of Victoria’s most significant war memorials. Make sure you leave time to follow the eco-trail at Sanatorium Lake, this beautiful, mountain top lake is stunning year round.

This boutique, family owned and operated vineyard is tucked away on a small country lane with views towards neigbouring Mount Towrong. Here the cellar door offers a welcoming environment, coupled with breathtaking views of the local landscapes. Sit back and relax as you sip on their Italian wine varietals perfectly matched with delicious Italian fare featuring fresh local produce.
