The Glenlyon Mineral Spring rest alongside the Glenlyon Recreation Reserve. Amble around the roaming mineral springs and reserve with loads of space to play, have a picnic and take a walk along the Kangaroo Creek. A popular picnic destination the area includes covered picnic shelters, tables and chairs and free electric BBQ. An enclosed playground and public toilets are available within the adjoining recreation reserve. Camping is permitted at the picturesque reserve
The current Glenlyon mineral spring bore was drilled in 2006 and has a depth of 98m. Enjoyment of mineral spring water is part of Glenlyonโs history which once boasted four hotels, a brewery and numerous stores supplying the goldfields. The land the mineral spring is located upon was set aside in 1868 for a reserve and gazetted in 1880 as a public park. By 1907 the use of the reserve was expanded to include horse racing and general recreation.
