Chewton is a charming and historically significant town, located next to Castlemaine. It was at one time, one of the richest gold mining locations in Victoria, and many interesting relics can be found from its goldrush days. Chewton is the ideal launching pad for Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park, which can be experienced on foot or by mountain bike via the Goldfields Track.
