In this intimate four-person workshop, Sarah will guide you through learning the traditional techniques to make your own silver jewellery. This workshop is aimed to be a fun creative experience and you require no prior jewellery making or metalworking experience to produce a beautiful piece of jewellery you will treasure for years to come.

Over two and a half hours you will create your own Sterling Silver Ring, Set of Earrings, or Pendant in a design of your own style. You will be guided through the process at your own pace, from designing your custom piece, marking out your design, cutting, forging, soldering, sanding, texturing and then finally finishing your new treasure.

Sarah knows that once you start working with semi-precious metals you'll be hooked! So in order to ensure you are able to create further projects at home on the completion of your class, there is a strong focus on using tools that are readily available and you are able to set up at home.

The cost of all your materials including your Sterling Silver is included in the cost of this class!

In this three-hour workshop, we will discuss the type of rope that we will use in the session and spend time learning several basic knots and how to create and design your very own macrame pieces that you can proudly say you made with your own hands.

Macrame is a grounding craft with a meditative aspect as you tie the knots to create your beautiful textiles. This creative class will give you the basic skills to continue making macrame at home as even the most intricate designs are made up of a few simple knots that we will learn throughout this course.

Macrame uses a series of knots to make functional and decorative pieces, they can be two-dimensional, like a wall hanging or you can make them three-dimensional and made to hang bowls or pots - your options are only limited by your imagination!

You will be given your choice of rope, as well as a wooden ring and terracotta pot so you can create your plant hanger to take home for yourself or as a gift for a friend or family member.

Stitch 'n Bitch is a name used by knitting groups that meet on a weekly or monthly basis at locations throughout the world. This use of the term originates as early as the Second World War. In 1999, Debbie Stoller started a Stitch 'n Bitch group in NYC's East Village, which was open to anyone who wanted to come along to knit or learn to knit.
Chewton’s Stitching n Bitching will be a little more social than the norm with a glass of bubbles on arrival and ‘nibbles for the knitters’ and we may even start running Ru Paul’s drag race from series 1 to really get those needles going.

Spend a whole day emersed in the creative process of copper foil in our custom-built art glass studio in Kyneton. Learn the process of creating a two-dimensional copper foil (often known as Tiffany style) glass light catcher!

You will create your own light catcher from start to finish using one of our designs as a guide. After learning about the different types of window glass; transparent, opaque, textured or clear, not to mention a huge range of colours, you will learn to transfer your pattern onto the glass and how to cut it out. You will learn to refine the shapes using our glass tools including the grinder. Once you have laid out your design we will teach you how to securely apply copper foil to each of your glass pieces, then real fun begins!

You will then be guided to tack solder your piece together and then tin your piece in a solder coating and attach your hanging system. You will also be able to add an additional dimension to your piece by adding a bevelled crystal that will ensure that your light catcher will spread a rainbow around any room if you desire. Then you can finish your piece with patinas if you wish!

A delicious lunch will be provided created from all local organic produce and able to cater for any dietary requirements you may have. We also provide you with a divine afternoon treat and tea and coffee facilities are available throughout the course.

The workshop costs include all materials required and all tools will be provided in the studio for use by participants.
